SPECS The Legacy of Rape
THE LEGACY OF RAPE
PROOF: Media for Social Justice (PROOF) has joined with TRIAL to create the exhibition, “The Legacy of Rape”. This exhibition gives voice to those who have survived rape or sexual violence in conflict zones. The goal is to remind the international community of the human costs of conflict-related sexual violence. In doing so, it prompts attention, response, and accountability.
Ultimately, the partners intend to create an enabling environment in which policies are implemented to ensure survivors of armed sexual violence have access to appropriate and culturally relevant clinical and social supports and access to justice.
The exhibit consists of photographs and first person testimonies that document the lives of survivors’ of armed sexual violence in Colombia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Nepal and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
