Dr. Milton Adams, a native New Yorker, published Urban Ephemera #1: If Walls Could Speak in 2014. While he studied at the Hampton Institute, the instructor Bob Grimes introduced him to art photography. After graduation, he moved to the Pacific Northwest where, working as a reporter, he learned photojournalism from the staff photographers of the Tacoma News Tribune. While In Tacoma, he was an active member of the Tacoma Camera Club and was taken under the tutelage of Virna Haffer, an innovative, proto-feminist photographer and pioneer of photograms.
