PROOF Exhibit Featured in Bosnia-Herzegovina's Public Awareness Week
This November, PROOF's exhibit, My Body: A War Zone, was featured as part of Bosnia Herzegovina's week of activities aimed to spread awareness of the 'Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative'. Designed to replace the culture of impunity for crimes of sexual violence in conflict with one of deterrence, the initiative was launched in 2012 by the former UK Foreign Secretary William Hague and the Special Envoy for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Angelina Jolie.
On November 19, 2014, My Body: A War Zone was honored by being displayed at the "International Protocol on the Documentation and Investigation of Sexual Violence in Conflict" Launch Event held in Sarajevo, and will continue to travel around Bosnia-Herzegovina with each of the local events. This was organized by the Post-Conflict Research Center in cooperation with other organizations such as British Embassy in BiH, OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, BIRN Bosnia and Herzegovina, Medica Zenica, Ministry of Defense of BiH, High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council and Peace Support Operation Training Center.
